The Rural Yorkshire Media Partnership would provide one clear local network connecting our communities, landowners, farmers, businesses and creative people with productions that want to work here properly.

Why Now
At present, there is no single media-focused network bringing together landowners, farmers, businesses, communities and media makers for the shared benefit of rural Yorkshire.
We are starting the Rural Yorkshire Media Partnership to fill that gap—not to replace any existing media agency, organisation or official body.
Its job is simple: to help productions find the right people, places and services, while ensuring communities understand what is being proposed before deciding whether to take part.
The partnership is for anyone who owns or manages land, runs a rural business, provides a useful service, creates professional media, or has responsibility for the area.
By working together, we can make responsible production easier, attract more work and investment to rural Yorkshire, support home-grown talent, and ensure that our land, communities and stories are treated with respect and receive a fair share of the value they create.
How Would It Benefit
Our Communities?
The partnership would help keep more of the value created by media production within rural Yorkshire. Productions could be directed towards local locations, accommodation, food suppliers, tradespeople, transport providers and creative workers.
Farmers, landowners, businesses and community groups could choose which opportunities suit them and agree fair terms before taking part.
Local creators could gain useful contacts, support and routes towards larger projects.
Clear guidance would also help protect residents, animals, working land, public rights of way and sensitive landscapes.
In simple terms, it would bring people together, make opportunities easier to find and help ensure that outside productions leave something worthwhile behind.
The Rural Yorkshire Media Partnership will be launched at Darley Memorial Hall on Saturday 28 November 2026, 7.30 - 8.30pm. during a screening and introduction to the Nidd Films slate. Everyone is welcome, but places are limited.
