This striking still from Sweetheart: Angel of the Moor was taken at the actual home of Mary-Jane Skaife, the young Nidderdale woman whose tragic story lies at the heart of our film. Shooting on location in the very place where Mary-Jane once lived was a deeply moving experience for our cast and crew, grounding the project in a sense of authenticity and respect for her story.
Our aim with Sweetheart has always been to balance gothic folklore with historic accuracy, ensuring the landscapes and locations carry the same weight as the performances. By working within real historic settings, we bring audiences closer to Mary-Jane’s world, making the film not just a story told but a piece of Yorkshire heritage preserved on screen.
We are incredibly grateful to Paul Boughton for his generous support in providing his stunning historic home for our location shoot. His kindness has allowed us to honour Mary-Jane’s legacy in the very surroundings that shaped her life.
We’ll be sharing more behind-the-scenes stories, images, and updates as we move closer to production in Nidderdale. If you’d like to follow Mary-Jane’s journey from history to screen, keep an eye on our channels, and join us in celebrating this powerful story of heritage, justice, and resilience.
